(In source section below, the 1900 US Census data lists the name "Bernice" instead of "Lola" for the child b. 1899, and the 1910 US Census lists Cora as the wife of John and uses the name Edna for Lola and also lists an "Edith" b. abt 1901 and no "Mabel" is listed that is b. 1903.)

John's parents are Jeptha and Jane (Camper) Van Vickle
(According to John Plaat's research, JohnV.V.'s parents are Jeptha Pine and Jane (Camper) Van Vickle. John Plaat has a death certificate for John Van Vickle wherein it states his parents are Jeptha VV and a Miss Camper. He has no information on Jeptha's ancestors, although I have presumed them to be Absalom and Elizabeth (Duglar) Van Vickle. 13 October 2000 email received from John Platt.)
Hattie's parents are Charles B. and Elizabeth (Counts) Jessee.

He m. Harriett "Hattie" Victoria Jessee (b. 4 November 1861 and d. 23 May 1944, Tolono, IL--buried in The Bailey Cemetery, Champaign County, IL) before 1883. Hattie is d/o of Charles B. and Elizabeth (Counts) Jessee. Charles was b. 25 October 1834 in Russell County, VA and Elizabeth was b. 24 October 1835 in Russell County, VA.

(John and Hattie had 8 children.) Jeptha^7 Pine and Jane (Camper) Van Vickle may indeed be the parents of John^8 as John Plaat claims. Jeptha was b. Feb. 1805 in Ohio and died 11 January 1862 in Parke County, Indiana and is buried in Hixon Cemetery, Montezuma, IN. He married Jane Camper on 16 June 1843 in Parke County, Indiana.

Edward married (1) Hazel Morgan (b. 6 August 1893 and d. 19 February 965) on 24 May 1920 (2) Inez Coffert, and (3) Olive Dora Clark (b. abt. 1900) on 24 November 1909; Hazel^9 Mae Van Vickle, b. 3 September 1891, Tolono, IL and d. 6 April 1965, Tolono, IL. She married William Stucky (b. 6 July 1887 and d. 6 April 1945); Sherwood^9 Jesse Van Vickle, b. 28 December 1898, Tolono, IL and d. 19 October 1940, Indianapolis, IN. He married Edith May Snavely (b. 21 April 1901 and d. Nov. 1987) on 22 December 1921; Lola^9 Van Vickle, b. 30 October 1899, Tolono, IL and d. August 1986, St. Petersburg, FL. She married (1) Enos Roy (b. 4 May 1891 and d. 17 September 1964, and (2) Harry Gifford (b. abt. 1896) on 22 August 1917; Mabel^9 M. Van Vickle, b. 8 February 1903, Tolono, IL. She married (1) Mr. Hansman and (2) Walter A. Huett (b. 10 Feb 1901) on 20 February 1922.

IGI, familysearch.com lists Enos Lee Roy (son of George W. and Margaret (Tuttle) Roy) m. to Bernice Van Vickle abt 1913 in Chicago, Cook, Illinois. In that Lola^9 above married Enos Roy, perhaps her name is Bernice Lola or Lola Bernice or...perhaps Lola is a nickname. --alerted to this by John Plaat in an email dated 13 October 2000

John Plaat claims that John Van Vickle's parents are Jeptha Pine and Jane (Camper) Van Vickle and that John and Hattie had eight children.
